Story Craft Activity Day

Paul Harrison is passionate about encouraging children to read, imagine and create their own stories. One of the ways he supports literacy in schools is through an engaging and creative Story Craft Activity Day. Many of the ideas and characters used during the sessions come from the children’s books Paul has written, helping pupils see how imagination can become a real story.

Working alongside Scott – a professional illustrator, author and cartoonist – Paul brings a fun and inspiring storytelling and cartoon drawing experience directly to your school. The sessions are based around the characters and adventures featured in the Paul Harrison book collection.

Meet the Team

Scott has been teaching both children and adults how to draw for more than 25 years. His workshops are lively, interactive and designed to build confidence in creativity while making the learning process enjoyable.

What Happens During the Day

• Paul begins the day by talking about his books and how stories are created.
• He explains where ideas come from and how imagination can become a published book.
• Scott then leads an interactive cartoon drawing session filled with humour and creativity.
• Children learn how to create their own characters and develop ideas for a story.
• By the end of the session, pupils will have designed a character and the beginnings of their own story idea.

Many of the creative exercises are inspired by the characters and adventures found in Paul's published children's books, helping pupils understand how a simple idea can grow into a finished story.

Fees

£480

A three-session School Activity Day costs £480 which covers travel and materials required for the sessions.

Books & Prizes

During the visit we provide the school with copies of our book and run a small creative competition inspired by the stories in Paul’s book series.

• Prizes are awarded for the best artwork created during the sessions.
• Books can be pre-ordered at a special school discount price of £5.00.
